Hello from SC. I'm a newly licensed real estate agent who thought it would be worth my while to get a grasp on mortgages as well. I was wondering how hard it would be to be a mortgage officer and a RE agent for the same transactions. I know I would have to disclose and give alternatives but other forums are saying it would be too hard. What do you guys think?

It really isn't too hard at all. The biggest benefit is that you understand both sides. I know some people who do both and they enjoy it. I'm in Oregon, my fiance is a real estate agent but I'm thinking about getting mine as well. I'll have no problem with disclosing that I do both. I know some people who can do both but they won't do them both for the same person at the same time. They feel its a conflict but as long as you can sleep at night and you don't break any laws then you are fine.
