Its very professional, it can generate a fair amount of leads, most people search the internet first so why not be on there for them to find?

again, does anyone care to elaborate on this with me?

To start, you're prolly not going to come in the top 10 results in search just because you have a website. Most people won't even stumble across your page, unless they type in your company name and geographical location. I am not trying to be rude, just trying to state real facts and be as honest as possible.

With that said - a website's greatest strength, (if you don't consistantly update it with unique content, or market it online) is that it builds credability. It is a great addition to your arsenal of listed Business Card information and provides the consumer with a little bit more on who you are. It allows them to get to know you a little more and get that feeling that your the guy they are gonna choose. In most cases consumers will have an overabundant set of options for brokers/lo's to work with. Build your credability with a website.

A blog can do wonders for you too. In fact your entire website could just be a blog. And the more unique content you have, the better your search results will be. But the last thing you want to do is start a blog that you don't update!

If you use the website correctly it can be quite the tool ;) I didn't take it as rude..You were stating some obvious things. I think I should have been a little more detailed.

It definitely takes some time and the right marketing with either SEO or PPC plus the correct link exchange and backlinking.

I'm definitely not a pro but I've learned a good amount of information over the last year. I am always trying to learn more in regards to using the internet to market more.
