Hello all. Just want to introduce myself really quick
My name is Luis Moreira, Account Executive with Aurora Mortgage, LLC. We just started doing wholesale and it would be nice to get some feedback on what loan officers look for in an AE. We have competative rates and great programs. Feel free to ask me any questions.

well its nice to see AE's showing up as well. Good to have you aboard.
What do I look for in an AE? Shoot it too me straight, don't feed me any lines. I've heard them all and don't care for them. All I ask for is straight answers. If something falls apart no hard feels just don't sugar coat it for me.
Answer my calls or at least return them in a timely matter. That goes for emails as well. I know we are all busy but its important. I try to return calls within an hour.
Don't try to sell me on the "great service" I mean, I love great service but great service doesn't keep my borrowers payments down and that is what THEY care about. I can't sell them on the fact that you'll be easy for ME to work with. I have lenders who try to sell me their service but they don't have competitive rates. How can I send the loan to lender A (who has great service) if I can send it to Lender B for half a point better in my rate??? I've had reps try to do that...Or they will cut out all of their commission to get my deals in hopes that I will love the service and send my future loans there. Again, I can't justify huge gaps in rates...
Hmmm, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Thank for the insight on what some LO's look for in an AE. I do understand that calls are important but most time I don't have time to answer calls. I always tell me Lo's that the best way to get in touch with me is via E-mail. Reason, I spend most of my time working loans out. And yes I do sometimes cut my commision to get the deals done and try to be competitive.
I have programs that are good and bad and pricing that streight out beats anyone elses and some that really just can't come close to what others have but I am honest and if I know where you can get a way better deal, I will tell you. I'm here to help not to promise things that can't be done. If there is something I can't answer right away I will get the answers asap.
When I was working as an LO, I had 0one AE that worked with me. If there was a problem he would help me work it out and give me ideas to make sure that the loan would close. After a few loans, no matter what the pricing was, I would send to him. Reason, that no matter what I knew that it would close and that he would get it done as if it was his clients loan. I never had to worry once he said that it could be done. But again everyone looks for the best in diffrent ways. I just hope that all LO's that I work with are up front with their loans and if there is something that they need help with they come to me and directly tell me what the situation is casue then I can help and not find something down the road that kills the loan.
Again if you have some insights on what more you want from an AE, Please let me know.

you make some great points in your comments. I'm sure you will do just fine as an AE. Good luck with it!
