I was looking at a number of mortgage websites and was wondering what people would recommend in regard to must haves if they were to launch a new website.

that is a good question Martin. I haven't really thought about it too much. It is hard to think from a consumer standpoint on what I'd want in the mortgage website.

obviously a payment calculator, definitions of terms, an online application. Maybe something that could generate a home value if someone was refinancing...not sure how to really pull that one off. Maybe an online form that they could fill out that someone would receive to generate an idea what the value would be for them...

that's just to give some ideas at least. I'd have to sit down and think about what I'd want.

Also do think about the SEO or marketing plans for your site. As this is difficult to get a single organic visit to a startup mortgage site

The SEO part is very important, and also very difficult/confusing to work with and do properly. I'd suggest dealing with established pros when try to do SEO.

I think a full description off the process (step by step explanation) would make Your page more "user friendly".
